Design Dictionary ("we", "us", "the site") is a free educational resource. This policy explains what data we collect and why.
What we collect
We use two analytics tools, both of which only run if you give consent via our cookie banner:
Google Analytics — collects anonymised page view data, device type, browser, and approximate location (country level). Cookies set: _ga (expires after 2 years), _gid (24 hours). Google acts as a data processor. Their privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.
Microsoft Clarity — collects anonymised click, scroll, and session recording data to help us understand how people navigate the site. Cookies set: _clck (1 year), _clsk (1 day). Microsoft acts as a data processor. Their privacy policy is available at privacy.microsoft.com.
We do not collect names, email addresses, or any other personal information. We do not run advertising. We do not sell or share data with any third party beyond the analytics processors named above.
Dark mode preference
Your dark mode preference is stored in your browser's local storage. This is not a cookie and is never transmitted to any server.
